JJ Allaire’s blog post today. Still playing with Livewriter.

Today our team is shipping the beta version of Windows Live Writer.
The best part of releasing a new product is how much you learn from customers after shipping it. As much as you think you’ve nailed the details you learn vastly more from user forums, blog posts, and support requests after you ship. The best you can hope for is that your first take is enough to get people engaged, thereby giving you the chance to create something really great.

This is being created by Microsoft’s new blogging tool released today. Thanks to Dave Winer for the link. Just testing.
It worked great! This is so cool.

Later: I posted a question on the Onfolio help forum:

I also want to use WordPress but the published command line just takes me to the admin page.
http://yourserver.com/yourweblogdirectory/wp-admin/bookmarklet.php?text=$ITEM_HTML$&trackback=1&pingback=1&popupurl=$ITEM_URL$&popuptitle=$ITEM_TITLE$It just doesn’t work. I am using the WordPress free web site. Is there a fix for this? |
In a few hours, I got a response from Joe at Onfolio:

If you download and use Windows Live Writer, the newest version of Onfolio can integrate with it when you use Blog This. Writer works with all different weblogs, including WordPress.

I reponded that I had seen livewriter and had been playing with and had noticed the announcement was written by JJ Alaire, one of the founders of Onfolio. I figured Livewriter might be the next version of Onfolio. Joe confirmed it.
I will have more to say after I spend some time with it.

This is definitely going to change how blogging works. I noticed that JJ Alaire–the founder of Onfolio is leading the Live Writer team. Cool
So far I can only make it work with one blog tool at a time. I have to fiddle with this.

I intend to shift from Manila to WordPress. Word is there is some software around that will move the whole enchilada from one system to the other. In the mean time. I dual post and see if I like this or not.
